Scolitantides orion (Pallas, 1771)
Range: Europe (S part and S Fennoscandia), temperate Asia.
Distribution in Bulgaria: Local from sea level to ca. 1700 m.
Habitat: Dry rocky or stony glades and slopes with sparse vegetation, usually in calcareous terrain.
Bionomics: Two generations from April till August. Larval host-plant: Sedum (Crassulaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
Conservation status: Local but not threatened in view of the wide availability of suitable habitats. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
