Maniola tithonus (Linnaeus, 1767)
Name in Tolman & Lewington (1997): Pyronia tithonus
Range: N Africa, S and partly C Europe eastwards to W Ukraine and W Turkey.
Distribution in Bulgaria: Widespread from sea level to ca. 1200 m.
Habitat: Warm bushy grassy places.
Bionomics: One generation from June till September. Larval host-plants: grasses (Poaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
Conservation status: Widespread and locally common. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
