Coenonympha pamphilus (Linnaeus, 1758)
Range: N Africa, Europe, Asia from the Near East to Mongolia.
Distribution in Bulgaria: Everywhere from sea level to ca. 1800 m.
Habitat: Practically any open place.
Bionomics: Two or three generations from March till October. Larval host-plants: grasses (Poaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
Conservation status: One of the most widespread and common butterflies in Bulgaria. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
