Name in Tolman & Lewington (1997): Polyommatus eros

Range: The higher mountains of S Europe from the Pyrenees to Caucasus. In the Balkan Peninsula reliably recorded from the mountains of former Yugoslavia from Slovenia S to Montenegro.

There are a few reports from Bulgaria, the most recent by Tolman & Lewington (1997) from Rila. It is not known what the basis for these reportes is; most probably the cause is confusion with the similar Plebeius eroides.
