Range: S Europe from France to Hungary and the Balkan Peninsula.
Distribution in Bulgaria: Local mostly in the S, from sea level to ca. 700 m.
Habitat: Warm sunny rocky slopes with bushes of the larval host-plant, most often in calcareous terrain.
Bionomics: One generation in May and June. Larval host-plant: Colutea arborescens (Fabaceae), larvae feed on seeds (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
Conservation status: A local and rare species in need of further research. IUCN category: Data Deficient.
