Range: N Africa, W and C Europe E to Ukraine, W Asia from Turkey to Iran.
Distribution in Bulgaria: Local in S Bulgaria, almost no records known N of Stara Planina range.
Habitat: Hot, dry grassy and rocky places.
Bionomics: One generation from May till August. Larval host-plants: grasses (Poaceae).
Conservation status: Local, but not threatened. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
