Pararge achine (Scopoli, 1763)
Name in Tolman & Lewington (1997): Lopinga achine
Range: Temperate Eurasia.
Distribution in Bulgaria: Very poorly known, only a few records are known from the lowlands in the N of the country at altitudes below 300 m a.s.l.
Habitat: Moist, partly shaded grassy places in woodland.
Bionomics: One generation in June and July. Larval host-plants: grasses (Poaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
Conservation status: Requires urgent research. This woodland species is becoming rare and threatened all over Europe and in view of the strong reduction and fragmentation of forest cover in N Bulgaria there is basis to think that this is also the case in Bulgaria. IUCN category: Data Deficient, possibly Endangered.
