Leptidea duponcheli (Staudinger, 1871)
Range: S France, S and C Balkan Peninsula, Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq and Iran.
Distribution in Bulgaria: Mostly the S half of the country from seal level to ca. 1000 m. N of Stara Planina recorded from the Black Sea coast (Baltchik) and Pleven.
Habitat: Dry, hot rocky and bushy places.
Bionomics: Two generations from April till late July. Larval host-plants: Lathyrus and Lotus (Fabaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
Conservation status: Needs research. IUCN category: Data Deficient, possibly Lower risk, near threatened.
