Apatura ilia ([Schiffermüller], 1775)
Range: The temperate Palearctic with a wide gap from Ural Mts. to lake Baikal.
Distribution in Bulgaria: In lowlands and mountain foothills up to ca. 1000 m a.s.l.
Habitat: River banks with willows, forest roads and clearings in river valleys.
Bionomics: Two generations from June till September. Larval host-plant: Salix (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
Conservation status: Relatively widespread and locally common in Bulgaria. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
